Follow
the easy steps
Step 1.
Create a center part, then section according to your color design.
Using a rattail comb, separate each section, selecting the desired
amount of hair to be highlighted.
|
 |
Step
2.
Each strand of hair to be highlighted is separated and should remain
free. To do this, comb through a section of hair to remain untreated.
Take a ColoRod and roll this untreated hair three-quarters of an inch
from the scalp, place a water-resistant paper on top of the ColoRod,
and finish rolling. |
 |
Step
3.
Now place the cover on the rod, and gently snap it in place. (Note:
The special water-resistant paper is applied at the final turn. The
lip-like edge on each side of the cover should be uniform.) The cover
forms a seal on the hair around the rod. Next, place the desired amount
of hair to highlighted over this wrapped rod, out of the way. Pick
up the next section of hair to be wrapped and roll as before. |
 |
Step
4.
When you have finished wrapping your custom highlight, all the untreated
hair will be wrapped and all the strands to be highlighted remain
free and ready to be colored or bleached. Beginning at the crown of
the head, apply your color with a brush. Applications to the strands
should be made one-eighth of an inch away from the scalp. Once you
have completed your color application, you may choose to either cover
the hair with a plastic bag, seat your client under the dryer, or
leave the hair uncovered. |
 |
Step
5.
As the color activates, its easy to select the desired shade
of tone, and your client can watch the coloring process with you.
Once you achieve your desired shade, rinse the color off. If the desired
color is too light or toner is needed, you may apply now. The ColoRods
may now be easily removed. Insert a rattail comb between the rod and
cover, press down gently with the tip of the combs tail, while
gently lifting upward to remove the cover. Then remove the ColoRods. |

Step 6.
Shampoo and condition. Youre done.
